ABOUT ME

My name is Kirsten, and I have always loved horses.  Like any horse-crazy kid, I dreamed of the day that I would grow up and ride horses all day.  After attending college at Michigan State, I decided that I wanted to pursue my passion for horses and came to work at Willowbrooke Farm in Plymouth, Michigan.  Here I teach lessons as one of the assistant trainers under Jennifer Blades, and I am also the professional rider here.  I am very excited to be named one of the 500 trainers accepted nation-wide to participate in the Retired Racehorse Project's Thoroughbred Makeover Challenge.  It is my hope to take Fancy Boy, the horse I adopted from the CANTER program, to Kentucky in October to participate in this challenge.

This blog will chronicle Fancy's journey from an ex-racehorse into his new career, in whatever direction he decides to take us.
